Bought Dec 29. Used 3 times a week. Broke Feb 22. These were used on a 1 inch diameter pipe, and used to keep a bedsheet in place. There was no abuse or excess force used. No unusual conditions like leaving these out in the sun. I wish these lasted longer. These type of clamps break right at the serrated teeth area, which is a place that stress concentrates and forms cracks. Clamps without the jagged teeth last longer, because the edge is straight, with fewer opportunities for cracks to form. The pivoting flat orange tips fall off easily, and they get lost, but this doesn’t bother me. These break too easily only after 2 months of usage. If you’re clamping things less than 1”, these could last longer, since the clamp undergoes the most stress when fully opened. For example, if you are clamping something 1/2 inch, the clamps won’t undergo that much stress, and it will last much longer. I am using this size because I need to clamp a 1 inch diameter pole. A smaller clamp may slip out, while a larger clamp may not clamp the pole at all (similar to touching the tip of your index finger and thumb, and letting a pen fall through the hole).
