I have always had a box spring and mattress bed. It was well past time to upgrade my bed. And many people kept telling me to get on of these kind of mattresses. Now, I know how they work and all. I've seen the videos. You know the ones where someone tries to open it while it's still rolled up? Quite a few have failed in doing so. Always reminds me of an old episode of the Dick Van Dyke show. Where his wife (Laura) was very curious to what was in a box that he put in the closet. Well, turns out it was an inflatable raft. I think we all know where this is going. *cue laughter*So in conjunction with the new bed frame I got. I bought this "mattress in a box". I don't know why but it took the bed frame a little longer to get here than the mattress did. So I waited until a couple days before the frame was to show up. I pulled it out of the box. Low and behold, there is was all rolled up. Still a little skeptical of it. laid it on the ground and unrolled it! That was the key!As soon as I poked a hole in it. It started hissing like there were a half dozen rattle snakes were in my face. It instantly inflated to the full 12 inches. The instructions said to let it sit like that for a day or two. But I was to curious and laid on it right then. I was surprised. This thing is soft as can be! I couldn't wait until the frame showed up so I can put it on it.Well, the day finally arrived. Got the frame and put it together. This mattress is a little heavy, but light too. The smaller folks will probably need another person to help them get it up. Put the new bed linen on it too.Let me tell you something. This is probably the best thing I have ever spent my money on. This thing is so comfortable and soft. you sit on the side and it goes down to at least half way, but when you move the middle. Oh my God!!! It's firm. Yet soft at the same time. It's like being on a cloud. I honestly have not slept this well in..... Ever! I don't know how I managed to not get one of these a long time ago! I even manage to start sleeping on my back again! My previous bed I always had trouble doing that so I either laid on my side or stomach. Never my back.You need a new mattress? This is the one. I went with the 12 inch, aka the biggest one. Full size. Don't be stubborn like me. Accept the change! it's worth it!
